Nike SB August 2009 - Shirts, Hats, & Socks

We have already seen a couple sneakers from the Nike SB August 2009 collection, including the “Will Ferrell” Dunk Low, and we now have a look at the shirts, hats, and socks that will be releasing alongside the footwear. The shirts will be kept relatively simple this time around with the exception of a few products. In addition, there will be two hats dropping this month: grey on black and yellow on green. The socks from the August ‘09 collection are directly inspired by the highly sought after Nike Dunk SB Lucky and Unlucky. Be sure to check out the complete collection after the jump. Celebrating the Life of Michael Jackson

June 25th 2009 is a day we will never forget, the day when pop star Michael Jackson passed away. Michael Jackson started his career at a young age, and has truly revolutionized the world of music. Our previous post was bitter sweet, bitter because a man died before his time, but sweet because many of the Sneaker Files readers came together to embrace the phenomenal singer.

Moving on, I am sure everyone of us can remember trying to do the moonwalk in our socks on the kitchen floor, or another one of Micheal’s moves. Hits like Thriller, Billie Jean, and Bad are amongst the many greats released. My personal all time favorite is Billie Jean, and coming in a close second is Beat It.

What Michael Jackson has accomplished and changed in the music industry is too much to list here. MTV probably would not be what it is today without Michael Jackson and the list of hits. As well, MJ was the first African American to have his music video aired on MTV.

Since we are a dedicated sneaker website, we will show Michael Jackson’s influence in the sneaker world, including his own line of LA Gears. Please share your thoughts, feelings, and what you remember. And please, lets think and talk about the good times of MJ. The first MJ many of us looked up to first. Below, we have a video behind the scenes with the two Michael Jordan and Jackson working on the music video “Jam”, plus sneakers from his LA Gear line.

Star Trek x Staple x Airwalk Terrain

Star Trek x Staple x Airwalk Terrain

To help boost the promotion of the silver screen release of “Star Trek,” the people behind the sci-fi film have enlisted the help of skate shoe company Airwalk to come up with something unheard of: a Star Trek shoe collaboration. The Star Trek x STPL x Airwalk Terrain features a black tarnished leather upper and black midsole, with a grey mesh tongue. The uncanny resemblance of the Airwalk “A” symbol and the Star Trek shield symbol made this collaboration even better, placing the ST logo on the tongue, laces, and back ankle tab. “NCC-1701″ is stitched on the side heel to match the U.S.S. Enterprise, and the STPL name is found on the side ankle tab. To finish it off, “Star Trek” is printed in white on a red insole, stating the purpose of the shoe. This shoe is limited to 110 pairs for men and 20 for children, and is only available at Reed Space NYC now. Stay tuned for another Star Trek shoe later this fall, and if you haven’t seen the movie, I strongly suggest you do. Live long and prosper, sneakerheads.
