DC x SE PK Ripper 2010 Fixed Gear

DC isn’t only about skating, they’re about anything on wheels. That’s why DC teamed up with SE Bikes to make the DC x SE P.K. Ripper 2010 Fixed Gear. The 2010 model is fairly different from its year-old predecessor, in that it uses a BMX style handle bar and stem. This neon orange/white fixie is available in seven different sizes to match your liking, but are limited to 800 in the U.S., and about 700 in quantity elsewhere in the world. This fixed gear has a long list of specs that will make you convinced that the $1000 msrp is worth it. Props to Bike Reviews for the info.

Nike SB
’s popular backpack model, the Eugene, has been fitted with a colorway to match that of this month’s Nike SB Blazer High release.  Previewed last month, the blood splattered Blazer colorway now becomes even more appealing, as few sneakerheads can resist the temptation of perfect bag/sneaker co-ordination. Utilizing the same Grey, Red, and White color scheme as its counterpart, the backpack is available now from Nike SB retailers like RMK — although the Blazer model is yet to drop.

Fat Joe’s New Album J.O.S.E. 2 Released

Like him or not, Fat Joe has an ill sneaker collection, lots of platinum, plenty of cars, nine studio albums, and of course, front row courtside Knicks tickets. Joe’s Jealous Ones Still Envy (J.O.S.E.) released in 2001 and went platinum. J.O.S.E. 2 dropped today and will likely sell more than any record that you made! Don’t hate the rapper, hate politics. Don’t hate on his collection, hate that you envy it. We are all Sneaker Heads, sneaker connoisseurs, sneaker collectors… whatever. Joe’s an aficionado like us and we respect his art and hustle… Who cares if he’s not the only one with Kobe Jordan VII PEs?! Do you have them? Respect was Joe’s first hit record, and it’s only fitting. Jealous people are weak. Congrats to Joe for the release of his 9th studio album.

Joe has been kind enough to hook up Sneaker Files 10 autographed copies of JOSE 2 to give to our readers. We will be giving the autographed CDs to winners of our Hip-Hop trivia competition on Twitter!

Be sure to follow @SneakerFiles and @JoeyCrackTS in order to qualify for the contest.

We only have 10 albums for the contest, so make sure to hit up iTunes, Amazon, or the local record store to secure your copy.

Michell And Ness Jordan Rookie Jersey

To commemorate “The Moment The Game Changed,” Mitchell & Ness re-released Michael Jordan’s rookie jersey. The jersey itself is tailored to the exact specifications of the one that Jordan wore in 1984-85. These jerseys will release exactly 25-years after MJ graced the NBA hardwood (October 26, 1984). The Mitchell & Ness store in Philly, NBA Store in NYC, The Chicago Bulls team store, and NBAstore.com will be the only places to buy the jerseys, which retail for $375.

Mitchell & Ness delivered one of these jerseys to me last week. Upon removing the dust cover and opening the meticulously designed Mitchell & Ness box, I found one of the greatest gifts/perks that I have ever received. Mitchell & Ness produced 1,264 jerseys to reflect the number of games Jordan played as a pro. This number includes the regular season, All-Star, and playoffs. Each jersey is stitched with a number from 1-1264, to represent a specific game. An elegant plaque fastened inside the commemorative box is etched with the specific details of the date and game. For example, I received game number 879 of 1264. My plaque reads, “Your jersey represents game #879 in the career of Michael Jordan. Game #879 was held March 18, 1996 as the Chicago Bulls defeated the Philadelphia 76ers 98-94. Michael Jordan’s stat line that day included 38 points, 11 rebounds, and 4 assists.” I was hoping to get the game where MJ dropped 55 on the Knicks right after his first comeback… so I could burn it! Oh well…

Dr. Martens – Spring 2010 Preview

dr-martens-spring-2010-preview-1

Doc Martens iconic 8-Eye boot turns 50 next year, and in order to commemorate the milestone, the model will see a bit of a reinvention. The seven vibrant colorways set to release next spring are certainly a change from the original 60’s black leather, the pallet including models in Navy, Red, Grey, Blue, Yellow, Black, Green — but the revamp is more than just a paint job. The boots use a new material for their uppers, a canvas-like water-resistant leather. The bright colors, canvas appearance, and white midsole/pipping, almost make the collection look like a fusion of Doc Martens and Converse Chuck All-Stars — a synthesis few would complain about. The highly anticipated boots are part of Doc’s Spring/Summer 2010 collection, but don’t expect them to stay on shelves for long.

R.I.P. DJ AM (Adam Goldstein)

Earlier today, Adam Goldstein, better known as DJ AM, passed away in his 7th floor New York apartment at approximately 5:20 PM. Though DJ AM was most know for his incredible music skills, he was also an avid sneaker enthusiast as was displayed by our very own Sneaker Tribute to DJ AM (Adam Goldstein) that was showcased almost a year ago. As most can remember, DJ AM and Travis Barker were nearly killed in a plane crash last year, but were both finally returning to their normal lives after making full recoveries. We, the staff at Sneaker Files, would like to convey our sincerest condolences to the Goldstein family and all others affected by the death of a great individual. Rest in peace, Adam. Please share your thoughts, prayers, and memories via the comments section below.
