Onitsuka Tiger has teamed up with automaker Mini creating the Clubman R55 Mini Urban package. The Mini Clubman is the latest car to join the Mini family and is a modified version of the Mini Cooper. Three Onitsuka Tiger sneakers are featured in the package and consist of black/white/pink, white/red and black/green. On the back heel of each of the sneakers in the Mini logo tying in the black and white checkered laces seen on the black/white/pink Onitsuka Tiger. Now available at retailers.

On April 11th, PF Flyers will be re-tracing their roots back to the 1940’s where they will be bringing back their SportShu sneaker. The SportShu consists of Japanese execution including an off-white exterior with contrasting stitching, rubber-patterned foxing and the original PF Flyers logo. The sneakers as well as a black/white model will be retailing at $180 when they are released at Conveyor Fred Segal in Santa Monica in very limited quantities. As part of their “Breaking The Mold” 2009 initiative, Airwalk is set to bring back four popular sneaker models that were released years ago. As you may remember, the Airwalk Desert Boot, given away in limited quantities a couple months back, was the first sneaker from the campaign, and it is now time for Airwalk to roll out the second pair. The Airwalk Prototype 540 was originally released in the early 1990’s, and gained much popularity due to its forefoot strap which skaters appreciated because it would help to give a snugger feel as well as protect the laces from blowing out while skating. There is no doubt that the Airwalk Prototype 540 is still as fresh today as it was years ago, and is definitely worth checking out. Expect the Airwalk Prototype 540 to drop in the upcoming weeks, so stay tuned for updates.

Etnies may not be a household name like Nike or Adidas or Reebok, but have made a name for themselves in the skating world. Etnies has just released their Plus Buster, a premium sneaker constructed with waxed laces and mesh tricot lining for comfort. The comfort element of this sneaker is carriered to the STI Foam cushioning footbed and conforming cupsole with an EVA insert. Aesthetically, the Plus Buster features a mid-cut with a brown and beige colorway. Soft full grain leather is paired with perforated side paneling and old school logo patches. Onitsuka Tiger, which was later transformed into Asics, is a Japan based sneaker brand that was created by Kihachiro Onitsuka in 1949. Onitsuka Tiger’s designs were originally aimed to create a sneaker for an average athlete due to Kihachiro’s belief that sports could play an important role in rebuilding the self-esteem of youngsters in Japan. The Seck MT is based on classic basketball shoes of the 1970’s and features a very narrow, yet comfortable silhouette. These two pairs of the Seck MT have very contrasting colored uppers accented by the traditional Seck MT stripes. The first pair features a gold upper, maroon striping, and cream sole. atmos has been very active over these past few month teaming up with the likes of New Balance, Puma and DC. The DC Life Collection links up the popular sneaker company with the retailer to present four styles, two DW1 and two CM1. The DW1 are made up of tiger camoflauge paired teal and pink accents. However, the CM1 offers a more dressed down style consisting of red, white and blue canvas. Other highlights include lace-locks, signatures on the tongue and designs on the sole and in-sole.
