Because the Nike Hyperize and Nike Hypermax have received so much attention as a result of special Nike events and commemorative efforts, it’s only natural that many of us begin to let the Nike Hyperdunk model start to fade away. But Nike seems poised to help us remember. Pictured here is a low-cut design of the Nike Hyperdunk that made such loud noise during the last basketball season. This pair comes in a predominantly white and black color palette with red accents along the lining and around the Nike swoosh, for example. This and perhaps other Nike Hyperdunk lows are rumored to release next year, but for now you can enjoy these teaser pix. 2009 was a VERY big year for the Nike Hyperdunk basketball sneaker. From extremely sought after colorways like Eggplant and Metallic Gold to your run-of-the-mill Team colorways, many sneakerheads (including professional NBA basketball players) laced up a pair of Hyperdunks and either put them to the test, rocked them casually, or did both. Building off of this year’s unprecedented success, Nike will be introducing at least three new Hyperdunk colorways in the summer of 2010. However, these will be a low-top version of the Hyperdunk and definitely draw comparisons to Kobe Bryant’s Nike Zoom IV’s. From the pictures of these Nike Hyperdunk Low’s, you can see that white and grey is used a lot, with two pairs being more strongly accented with green and blue, respectively. We previewed the Nike Hyperdunk Eggplant and Metallic Gold in June and are now able to report that the high-performance Nike Basketball shoe is available at select accounts nationwide. Both shoes incorporate a metallic finish on the toebox and feature black leather uppers. The Nike Hyperdunk Eggplant and Metallic Gold are on the shelves at Nike Stores around the nation.

Nike will release a Hyperdunk Mid exclusively dedicated to the Philippines later this Summer. Inspired by the Filipino national flag, the hightop shoe is distinguished by a blue patent upper, red midsole, and a yellow speckle midfoot. Red shoestrings bring this instant classic together. The Nike Hyperdunk Philippines will release later this summer at select Nike/House of Hoops locations worldwide.

Game 1 of the 2009 NBA Finals was quite anticlimactic with the Los Angeles Lakers winning by 25 points; however, Game 2 proved to be a completely different story. The Orlando Magic rookie, Courtney Lee, missed an alley-oop attempt with 0.6 seconds left in regulation, sending the game into overtime. There, Kobe Bryant and company took over, and ended up winning Game 2 with a final score of 101-96. Though the game progressed at a relatively slow speed, it was nonetheless a great show of basketball talent and fancy footwear. Some of the sneakers on show in Game 2 included the Nike Zoom Kobe IV (4), adidas TS Lightspeed, Nike Hyperdunk, Nike Foamposite Lite, adidas TS Commander LT, Nike Huarache ‘09, and the adidas Fly By.
