El Dia de los Muertos is a month away, so it’s about time we got an better look at the third model from this year’s Day of the Dead Pack. The Nike Dunk Low DOTD stays away from the dark tone of the Nike Dunk Hi DOTD, but uses the same elements with its purple skeletal allover print on the white leather upper. It also has a green leather swoosh to offset the white, purple and orange found on the contrast stitching. The insole features an iconic DOTD-inspired print to really empower the theme of El Dia. It is clear that Nike is open to experimental projects by such executions as the “Dotty Dunk Pack.” This time, Nike experiments with a more subtle colorway. With a white midsole and icy outsole holding a black leather upper, this Nike Dunk High actually has anthracite felting from the front of the ankle to the top of the heel. It seems that a rather “quiet” colorway works perfectly with such touches as an icy sole and felt material- what do you think? If you thought Nike was done for the year using speckled silhouettes with the Nike Air Max 1, think again. Set to release sometime in December is this “Dotty Dunk” pack that consits of two Nike Dunk High’s. This time, however, it’s the shoe’s upper that receives the speckled treatment. One pair comes with a black upper accented by bright yellow shoe laces and dots. The other pair comes in a predominantly red upper accented by bright blue shoe laces and dots. I bet you’re wondering, “Another Cassette Playa x Nike collabo?” Nope, this is the final version of the Cassette Playa x Nike Dunk High Premium, as part of a Rivals pack. The black upper stays the same, along with translucent swoosh and white contrast stitching. The difference is the design, as well as the bright orange outsole and midsole. This version is much quieter than its predecessor, with a single blue teeth design on the toebox, and the same logo on the tongue tag. The shoe comes with three pairs of laces to mix and match with. These are available early now overseas, but it’s a good idea to wait til these make a general release.

With El Dia De Los Muertos around the corner on November 2nd, Nike is releasing another Day of the Dead commemorative shoe. The Nike Dunk High Premium is one of a three pack consisting of the Dunk Hi, Nike Air Max 90 and Nike Dunk Low. The Dunk Hi features a dark tone, which is executed by a black leather upper, black midsole, and purple outsole. The upper also features black panels with iconic Mexican characters in purple. These panels are contrasted by orange stitching, as well as a green swoosh and inner lining. The insole also pays homage to El Dia with its skeletal graphic design. As a quickstrike, these are limited in quantities, but we’ll keep you updated with a release date and more info on the DOTD pack.

We all know about the DQM x Nike Dunk High collection from back in 2008. Well, if you haven’t, you should by now thanks to Complex Magazine’s Top 100 sneakers from the 2000’s. But what you didn’t know was that there is another colorway for the shoe that was made available for friends and family only. That’s right, the DQM x Nike Dunk High Hyperstrike is in existence, in 24 pairs of black on black sneakers. The shoe features a black perforated nubuck upper and black midsole and outsole. Too bad these will never see the light from the DQM store, so if you ever come across this kind of quality meat, be sure to save it for a special occasion.
