We last saw the Nike Zoom Kobe V (5) Wear Test Sample in a white/black colorway. This time around, Nike has sampled the low-top basketball shoe in an all-black colorway. Of course, the shoe features Nike’s newest Lunarwire technology to advance stability without adding to the weight of the shoe. This sample is one step closer in finally seeing the ZK5’s in all its lightweight glory, so be sure to be on the lookout for more possible samples and don’t forget to support the Black Mamba and the Lakers!

With versions dedicated to the Minneapolis Lakers, Batman’s heinous villain The Joker, The Black Mamba, and Kobe Bryant’s “Carpe Diem” way of life, the Nike Zoom Kobe IV (4) has achieved fantastic success at retail, despite its suggestively lowtop silhouette. Images of Bryant’s fifth ride, the Zoom Kobe V (5), recently surfaced and it appears as if the crafty folks in Nike’s “BB” division have decided to stick with a low for the Los Angeles Lakers superstar. The shoe incorporates the Swoosh’s Lunarwire technology along the upper and Carbon Fiber spring plate under the arch to mitigate unwanted movement during lateral movements, cuts, and herky jerky crossovers. Let’s hope that KB’s newest model is devoid of Nike’s gimmicky LunarFoam. All Zoom cushioning, please.

Perhaps you caught of glimpse of Kobe Bryant’s Nike Zoom Kobe IV (4) created especially for Martin Luther King Day. Here’s an up close and personal look at the Player Exclusive sneakers. Of course, the ZKIVs are made up of the traditional purple and gold applied to a white base. However, Nike put a special spin on the colorway with gradient design on the toe, gold trim and a snakeskin pattern around the collar. With Kobe Bryant already debuting a plethora of colorways of his newest signature sneaker, the Nike Zoom Kobe IV, Bryant has now moved on to letting his fans design the pair which he will rock in his next game. For today’s game against the Chicago Bulls, Kobe will be unveiling a colorway designed by students attending Claremont Academy Elementary School and Parkside Elementary Community Academy. The students utilized Nike’s online NikeID service which allows everyone to create their own colorways of select sneakers including the Nike Hyperdunk, Nike Air Stab, and the Nike Zoom Kobe IV. The end product hosts a black leather base accented by a purple swoosh and laces, and a yellow toecap, inner lining, and heel. Expect to see Kobe Bryant rocking these in game tonight against the Chicago Bulls.

With the Nike Zoom Kobe IV (4) being seen on the feet of other athletes besides Kobe Bryant including college teams, new colorways including this “Bred Air Jordan XI (11)” like make-up are starting to release. This model is made up mainly of black and patent leather construction with red accents bordering the tongue and on the sole. White is placed on the swoosh and midsole and two toned laces finish off the subtle look. No word of a release date yet, but look for the Nike Zoom Kobe IV to hit retailers in the coming months and maybe the feet of teams sporting black, white and red jerseys.

With the regular season winding down, Nike’s Playoff Pack is starting to appear online at retailers including Shoe-Planet. The Playoff Pack consists of styles like the Zoom MVP, Zoom Flight Club and Zoom Kobe IV (4). Each model in the package is distinguished with a special log on the tongue. To go along with this icon is a color scheme made up of white, black and maize. The base of the sneaker appears in white with black placed on the swoosh, heel, inner lining and on the tongue. Maize finishes of the ZKIV and is the color of choice for the signature of Kobe Bryant, border swoosh and other accents.

The Nike Zoom Kobe IV (4) has been released in various styles over the course of the past few months, but one colorway sneakerheads have been looking forward to for a while is the MPLS pair shown above. Inspired by the the Los Angeles Lakers’ MPLS throwback jerseys, this pair features a grey upper accented by a white midsole, a blue swoosh, and a translucent sole. Though the MPLS Zoom Kobe IV was expected to hit Nike retailers later in the year, some Nike Basketball accounts are now selling the highly anticipated colorway for a retail price of $120.
