The Undefeated x Converse Poor Man’s Weapon has been looked forward to by many sneakerheads since we previewed the sneaker in early April. As most have already come to know, Undefeated has teamed up with the folks over at Converse to design this new olive green colorway of the Poor Man’s weapon. This pair features an olive green upper with orange accents and a white midsole. In order to celebrate their colab with Converse, UNDFTD is hosting a release party on Friday, May 15. Though the sneaker is set to drop on May 16th, the Undefeated Silverlake store will have them available for purchase tomorrow. Converse Japan has dropped two of their classic models in a variety of styles ranging from the Jack Purcell to the basic Chuck Taylor in high and low top. The two Jack Purcells feature a white outersole and black accents to go along with reptile and camouflage uppers.  The rest of the new releases include the Chuck Taylor Hi and Low constructed with a tonal canvas upper available in black, red and yellow. This month typically consists of releases dedicated to Easter, but there is another religious period falling in April, Passover. Passover is observed by the people of the Jewish faith reflecting back on a time of hardship where the Hebrews escaped from slavery. During the 8 days of Passover, it is forbidden to eat leavened bread and other fermented products. Passover is also a time to remember the exodus from Egypt led by Moses who miraculously parted the Red Sea (reason for our tribute to the best eight red shoes); guiding the Hebrews to the Promise Land. The Converse All Star Tie Dye Pack dropped overseas just in time for the warm summertime months. Composed of the Chuck Taylor All Star and Skidgrip Mid and Ox, each model’s canvas upper has been tie-dyed. A purple/orange/pink/white schema and black/purple/green/royal blue/ white scheme colorway are offered on the Skid and Chuck, and both are complimented by a rubber outsole. A bit too lucid for my purist tastes, but perhaps the Hypeasts/”Kanyeezys” of the world will match these with their rose-colored denim and multicolored polo shirts this July? Only time will tell. Selfridges & Co. is celebrating their 100th anniversary with a limited version of the Converse Chuck Taylor All Star Ox. Inspired by the England company’s iconic Pantone 109 colorway, this predominantly yellow canvas affair is offset by black patent leather accents and a white rubber midsole. The lowtop’s upper is double stitched and features the “All Star” logo on the tongue. The Selfridges x Converse Chuck Taylor All Star “Centenary Edition” will be available at Selfridges’ Concept Store and at Offspring this coming May.

In an attempt to recapture that ‘ol “championship attitude”, Dwyane Wade spent the 2008-09 NBA in his ’06 Finals MVP garb: knee-high socks, McDavid protective gear and his first signature shoe, the Wade 1. As such, Converse fabricated a “Playoff Special” player exclusive version of the shoe that features a black nubuck upper and a red faux-croc embossed toe. The model features a double lasted heel that improves durability, shark inspired vents that provide relief from the Heat, and EVA inserts in the heel and forefoot for added bounce. As for the kicks, “fugget about ‘em!” They’re exclusive to Dee, unless the Heat make a pronounced run in the NBA’s 40 night marathon.
