Converse Jack Purcell Mid - Waxed Leather

The Converse Jack Purcell model has been undergoing some serious aesthetic changes, but for the better. This time, Converse gave the classic silhouette a material upgrade, as the Converse Jack Purcell Mid comes in two new colorways complete with waxed leather uppers. These Purcells come in black and burgundy, both with the classic white midsoles and black outsoles. The only difference is the upper, of which the black pair uses a black waxed leather upper with a little design to give the shoe a nice modern look. The burgundy waxed leather pair shows signs of pre-worn material to give the shoe a vintage feel. Both are available now for $132 each online.

Robert Indiana’s infamous pop art ‘LOVE’ sculpture makes its way onto the Converse Chuck Taylor All-Star in this collection of both high and low top models. Originally intended to be the cover for a Christmas card, the iconic nature of the sculpture is amplified by the use of the similarly influential Converse sneaker. A direct collaboration with the artist, his work can be found on the midsole and upper, along with his signature on the tongue/insole. Set to release in the Spring of next year, you can check out some more detailed images of the collaboration effort after the jump.

Blends x Converse 1HUND(RED) One Star

Some of the top lifestyle brands have worked for Converse’s 1HUND(RED) collection to not only give the consumers some stylin’ shoes, but to inflict some knowledge about charity on them as well. This time, SoCal brand Blends has collaborated with Converse to make the Blends x Converse 1HUND(RED) One Star. The One Star uses a premium black leather upper and a classic white striped midsole. Red lace eyelets are accentuated towards the ankle to promote the (RED) charity. The back heel tag definitely makes this a classic shoe, taking influence from the vintage feel of Converse. These will retail for $120 and will release at Blends’ stores in San Diego, Costa Mesa, and Los Angeles in three consecutive nights (7-10pm) starting October 22nd.

CTS2

Sneakerheads showed Converse a lot of love and respect for what they did with a low-top Chuck Taylor on which they applied a “stone” color palette. Now, Converse turns its attention to the mid-top cut of the Chuck Taylor Skate. Ready for a holiday 2009 release are the two pairs of CTS Mid’s pictured here in predominantly suede black and suede brown uppers. The brown pair sports an all-white sole with a dash of black, and it is available now at Converse retailers. Interestingly enough, the black pair sports the same black accent on the sole, however, the sole is grey as opposed to white, and it is set to drop come November 1st. Both shoes are made for wear and tear as you ride down the winter streets, so pick your weapon. Which pair do you like better?
