Towards the end of last month we showed you a Chuck Taylor high from Converse that sported a black/parchment colorway that would actually look good in any season. Our readers generally liked the design, and Converse is back at us with another one. Pictured here is the “Sweatshirt” Converse Chuck Taylor high whose upper is made of (grey) material you might see on a sweater. While the toe cap and sole are predominantly white, there is a stripe of black and a stripe of red towards the bottom of the shoe. You can purchase these now from select Converse retailers.

It’s been a year since UNDFTD first teamed up with Converse to create the first Converse Poorman’s Weapon. For the third installation, the two brands have come up with a navy colorway for the UNDFTD x Converse Poorman’s Weapon. The shoe once again utilizes a full nylon bomber jacket material upper, complete with orange contrast lining and removable velcro tags. This time, though, the shoe comes with a special matching flight jacket and helmet bag to really enforce the theme. You can expect these flyers to come out January 29th worldwide.

The upper comes in a black/parchment colorway, with the traditional white sole and shoe laces. Converse have taken an old school classic and given it a 2010 makeover, creating the Converse Aucklund Racer. This lightweight runner, the Aucklund Racer, comes in three clean colorways as part of the Converse First String Collection set for release this year. The Racer comes in silver, black, and teal, all sporting white midsoles to have a strictly two-toned shoe. Covered in reflective TPU and nylon mesh, this runner is certainly a top pick for casual everyday wear that has a stylish vintage touch. Converse have been doing big things with big names in fashion. Aside from a collaboration with Mr. Hiroshi Fujiwara, Converse have enlisted luxury clothing brand Missoni to work on a pair or two of Chucks. The Missoni x Converse Chuck Taylor All Star Hi comes in two colorways that showcase Missoni’s signature zig zag designs on the uppers. The patterns are offset by a white toe and midsole and brown inner linings. The Converse ankle logo is donned in brown leather, and the Missoni license plate logo is placed at the back heel. These are set to release in April 2010 at Missoni and select Converse retailers for $200 a pair as part of Missoni’s Fall/Winter 2010 collection.

The Converse brand recently held a nationwide contest in which participants were instructed to use the Converse Chuck Taylor (high and/or low) as the silhouette of choice on which to make a design inspired by pop culture. Out of an overwhelming 1700 entries, 20 finalists were chosen, out of which 3 winners were then chosen: Jeferson Antonio Vieira, Matheus Lopez Castro, and Adriano Parents Cinelli. Each winner was awarded a cash prize, a year’s supply of Converse products, and his winning design put into production. We’d like to now show you the three sneakers designed by the winners.
