Bringing back the successor of the Asics Gel-Lyte III, Asics is releasing three pairs of the Gel Lyte Speed for its spring 2009 collection. The Asics Gel Lyte Speed comes in three different colorways: white/black/turquoise, blue/black/pink, and pink/white/magenta. These light shoes take elements from the Gel-Lyte 3’s, including the split-tongue. It uses mesh materials for breathability, leather, and rubber. The white/black/turquoise pair features a turquoise splattered white midsole. All three shoes read “Gel Lyte Speed” on the leather heel panel, where the Asics emblem is planted. Each Gel Lyte Speed has its own distinct features so be sure to run to the store when they release.

Onitsuka Tiger recently released their renowned Mexico ‘66 model in a Deluxe iteration. The classic jogger was handcrafted in “The Land of the Rising Sun” and will hit in four tonal color schemes: mustard yellow, fairway green, white, and light red. Each shoe is defined by a premium leather upper, suede accents and a spare white midsole. The Onitsuka Tiger Mexico ‘66 Deluxe is available exclusively overseas in extremely limited numbers.

One of the earlier basketball shoe brands of the 70’s, Asics’ branch Onitsuka Tiger has come out with the Coolidge in grey/white and black/white. These two colorways make the shoe look very clean and simple, that can be used for any occasion. The uppers are made of a cross-stitched canvas material that gives the upper a unique pattern. Also the shoe features a white midsole, black sole, with white and black rubber toeboxes and thin suede tongues, respectively. The trademark is on the top of the tongue and the heel features a suede flap among other various features. Onitsuka is definitely bringing back their shoe game with originality and style.
