Asics has been dropping new releases for its Gel Lyte force left and right, and it hasn’t forgotten about the ladies either. The Asics Gel Lyte III Women’s comes in a new lavender colorway. The shoe uses a silver mesh and navy leather upper, with the iconic lavender leather panels on the side. Lavender has also been added to the white midsole, which sits atop a blue and silver outsole. The tongue is also sported in lavender, as well as the stitching of the Gel Lyte logo on the side. This shoe will be available this November, so sit tight!

Many Air Jordan aficionados have to live without a pair of Grape V’s at their disposal. But no longer do you have to live without that colorway on yet another stylish shoe. As part of their Fall/Winter of 2009 Asics collection, the brand is dropping a colorway similar to that of the aforementioned Jordan on a silhouette made for active wear. But if the purple/teel colorway doesn’t entice you, there are several different ones also becoming available when this collection drops- including two that sport green tones and two more that each draw somewhat from the purple/teel colorway. The popular brand of the seventies’ is putting life back into its acclaimed models, as Onitsuka Tiger seeks to keep its audience pleased. Onitsuka has retro’ed its Onitsuka Tiger Vickka in two classic colorways: jester red and navy. Both shoes use full suede uppers; the red has silver leather accents and the navy has white leather accents. Chunky white midsoles make this narrow shoe even better, much like the Puma Suede or Clyde. The outsole of each shoe matches its main color, making this solely a two-tone shoe. These are available now online for $90 each.

Asics just keeps coming with new colorways and ideas for its runner models. This time, the Asics GT-II is featured in a patriotic colorway, known as the Yankee Doodle. This white mesh upper is contrasted by navy leather and mesh materials, as well as red accents on the heel and outsole. “GEL” is printed on the white midsole to match the red Asics logo on the back ankle. Although Independence Day was a while ago, it’s never too late to act patriotic, especially when it comes out in October.

Although Onitsuka Tiger is a classic brand of shoes, it doesn’t hurt when it teams up with Danish store Wood Wood. Together, they created the Wood Wood x Onitsuka Tiger X-Caliber, in a grey/black colorway. This lightweight shoe features a light grey mesh upper with black leather accents, and grey and black suede panels at the front and back, respectively. The back suede heel panel also sports a white club print to make this shoe stand apart from others. A little blue has been added to the tongue tag, white midsole, and insole, which showcases the Wood Wood logo and another club. It’s available now in limited quantities for about $156.

After seeing a tropical Asics Gel Lyte Speed, it’s no surprise to see this colorful sneaker. The Asics Gel Lyte III Blue Jumbo is almost a Frankenstein of shoe materials. The shoe consists of a black checker toebox, black leather toe and side panels, elephant print accents, yellow mesh, turquoise inner lining and midsole, and turquoise/black striped shoelaces. That was a mouthful for one pair of sneakers. This pair of shoes alludes to the good old days when bright colors were prevalent and runners were abundant. Now you can take a walk, or run, in these down memory lane come October.

Mita, a Japanese retailer, is no stranger to collaborations- especially with Asics. Less than a year removed from this same pairing’s 2008 campaign for the Gel Lyte III, September 5, 2009 marks the release date of this familiar duo’s latest collaborative work. The Gel-Lyte Speed is set to drop in a colorway inspired by the relaxing feel we all seem to associate with “Tropical” areas. Hitting stores just as summer should be wrapping up, these kicks consist of a predominantly grey base with bright red, pink, blue and yellow accents. Limited to a reported 500 pairs, getting your hands on a pair of these might be as elusive as that tropical vacation I’m sure we could all use.
