While we were able to bring you a teaser pic of the result of a collaboration between HighSnobiety and Asics, little could be told from the picture. Not to worry, though. We now have pictures of the finalized producted to show you. This pair of Asics Gel Lyte III has an upper actually made of pig skin and patent leather, while the colorway is mainly blue and grey. A big collaboration like this begs a big release date- and big it is. These will go on sale both online and in-store from the DavidZ shop at 556 Broadway between Prince and Spring streets in New York City. 200 pairs have been set aside for online sales, while only 18 will be able to be purchased in-store. After the return of the Onitsuka Tiger Lawnship, the Asics sub-brand has another retro in-store for the upcoming year. The Onitsuka Tiger Lay-Up will make a comeback, after its introduction in 1972, in three bright colorways. The Lay-Up is a hightop shoe that follows the same silhouette of the Converse Chuck Taylor. “Tiger” is printed vertically at the heel to go along with the logo tongue tag. The orange, blue, and red nylon uppers are combined with white midsoles and toes to make these classic comebacks. Be sure to find these at your local Tiger retailer come February 2010.

It was only a few days ago when we saw the Onitsuka Tiger Lawnship resurface into the modern world. Today, Size? gives us two more colorways for the Lawnship to give us even more choices for our feet. The Onitsuka Tiger Lawnship comes in brown/bronze/cream and grey/lime, both using tweed uppers consisting of suede lace trim and toe in their respective colorways. The Onitsuka Tiger logo is placed on the side panel amongst the tweed fabric, making this a really simple silhouette. The lime accents on the grey pair make an otherwise dull grey shoe stand out, and the clean mix of the brown pair with bronze and cream make this another candidate for everyday wear. Both are available now for about $90 overseas.

There’s a reason why most people refer to all sneakers as tennis shoes, and that’s because tennis shoes started it all. Onitsuka Tiger was a contributor in this, with its classy tennis shoes from the past. Today, the brand still goes strong, retro-ing classics and taking flavor from the days of old to create some sure-fire hits. Onitsuka Tiger did just that by creating the Onitsuka Tiger Lawnship. The Lawnship comes in two different brown colorways for the Holiday 2009 season. The first is a full brown premium leather upper with a brown suede toe, complete with a white vintage midsole and mustard yellow accents. The other pair is pretty opposite from the first pair, with a mustard yellow premium leather upper complete with a brown tiger design accented by gold stitching. Red fur offsets the shoe at the heel, with brown suede at the toe. Be sure to look out for these babies at your local Onitsuka Tiger retailer.

At the end of August, the Asics crew applied an eye-opening “blue jumbo” colorway on its famous Gel Lyte III. Now, the same silhouette is in midst of being reworked by the Asics crew again- only this time the HighSnobiety crew is on the job as well. Previewed here is the result of said collaboration- a Gel Lyte III with what seems to be a predominantly grey upper and blue suede on the mid panels and toe box. Asics is known for its classic runner silhouettes, and respected to this day for their modern makeovers that are given to their models. The Asics GT-II is the latest model to be made over, in white and black colorways. Both shoes use black, yellow, white, and pink elements. The only difference is one has a white leather and mesh base upper while the other follows in black. The midsole features a sound bar design and the translucent tongue tag make this modern shoe look even cooler, combining style with top performance. These GT-IIs are available now for $106 each.

Last time, Europe got its hands on the Onitsuka Tiger X-Caliber with the Wood Wood collaboration. Now, it’s Asia’s turn, as Japanese brand Azita has tried its hand on the classic runner. The Azita x Onitsuka Tiger X-Caliber definitely does the model justice, with its clean Livestrong-style colorway of black/grey/yellow. The upper features a gradient effect from grey to black, with a grey mesh and suede toe and black suede heel. Yellow is found on the midsole, which sits atop a black outsole, to match the yellow tongue tag. This is definitely going to be a great release, so stay tuned for more info on the shoe.
