As most of you either have seen or read, Michael Jordan was inducted into Naismith Memorial Basketball Hall of Fame on September 11, 2009. The six-time NBA Champion has not only played a huge role in the development of the National Basketball Association (NBA), but has also highly influenced another key part of our lives…sneakers. Jordan Brand is, without a doubt, considered to be one of the greatest sneaker brands ever created. Though Air Jordans were not too popular when the original black and red sneakers released back in 1985, today, Air Jordans are seen as some of the best sneakers available on the market. A key aspect of the success behind Air Jordans is the unique inspiration behind each individual model, which accurately displays the time and effort put into each sneaker. It’s great to see the would of, should of, and could of, in the sneaker game. Like this Air Jordan XX (20) Low sample from 2005, which rocks a black/chartreuse-light graphite colorway. This AJ XX is reminiscent of the Air Jordan XIV (14) in the exact same colorway. This dark shoe features a black on black design, with a black sole to match the black and light graphite grey leather and nubuck upper. The toe sports the iconic laser pattern, and the chartreuse inner lining gives the dark shoe loads of bright contrast. The outsole follows the colorway as well, to match the chartreuse mesh inner tongue, and bright Jordan symbol on the back heel panel. This specific pair is numbered and specified as a sample on the side panel. Not a bad idea for this pair of jays.

The Summer of 2009 is over, Fall is here, and Winter is not far away; thus, Jordan Brand recently dropped two new colorways of their latest boot model. The Air Jordan Winterized Spizike Boot hosts the shape of the Air Jordan Spizike with extra “Winterized” editions, such as a chunkier sole, boot laces, and a lightweight water-repellent lining. The first pair hosts a black upper with anthracite accents, while the second sneaker yields a dark cinder base with black accents. Both colorways of the Air Jordan Winterized Spizike Boot are now available at your local Air Jordan retailers.

A lot of us were impressed with the White/Deep Blue colorway of the Air Jordan Hallowed Ground, and fortunately, Jordan Brand is pretty good at recognizing when they’ve got a good thing going. Pictures of two very similar colorways in White/Black and White/Navy have leaked, featuring the same gradient midsole we saw (and loved) on the Deep Blue model. Taking the format of a basic uniform-complimenting colorway, don’t be surprised if the models are geared towards team buyers. No word on any release details, but stayed tuned for more information about the hybrid’s new colorways.

Aside from the basketball releases that Jordan Brand has been busting out, JB has also been taking a spin on the casual shoe game. Thus, the Jordan L’Style One was spawned, and it has released with a new colorway: black/black-neutral grey. The upper uses black leather with perforations which group to make the Air Jordan wings design. The hightop features straps on the upper to give this some style, hence the name. The white midsole and black outsole match nicely to the shoe, making it a nice pick for any occasion. It’s available now for $135.

Jordan Brand has once again given a sweet colorway for the kids. The Air Jordan I (1) Phat GS comes in a cute and sweet black/chine rose-white colorway. The black leather upper is nicely contrasted by chine rose pink patent leather on the toebox, swoosh, and heel panel. A white midsole and black outsole make this a clean shoe, and the tongue tag features the Jordan symbol in pink. The inner lining greatly contrasts the whole color scheme, with a yellow/black pattern. This shoe is available now for$75.

The Air Jordan Spizike has been one of, if not THE, fan favorite among Air Jordan hybrids- right next to the recently released 60+ perhaps? Regardless, it seems as though Team Jordan Brand is teasing us again by asking us, “Do you know?” Unless you had a hand in designing these you probably don’t know very much at all. However, this Spizike does seem to draw inspiration from three/four different Air Jordan III’s: the Fire Red, the True Blue, and both the White and Black Cement. With a lace lock that reads “Mike” and another that reads “Mars,” perhaps Team JB is asking us a rhetorical question regarding what we know about being as iconic as these two celebrities. Still, the answer to that question is also, “Nothing.” For now, enjoy pictures of what could be the Air Jordan Spizike to generate the most buzz ever.
