While some notable players have successfully transitioned from the NBDL to the NBA, the everyday basketball fan probably knows little about the NBDL and its players. Well, for those of you who don’t know, the NBA has afforded the adidas brand even more visibility than usual on the hardwood floor per the athletic partnership between both parties. While the adidas company provides sneakers for NBDL players, those who choose to wear any other brand’s footwear has been instructed to cover up appearances of the logo with the use of athletic tape. Now it becomes clear which players simply have a preference other than adidas and that adidas is willing to act with as much right as it has to overcome the competition. What are your thoughts?

When we wrote about the collaboration between Ransom and adidas Originals that resulted in the Never Ending Path Project, one of the silhouettes that were pictured was the Valley high. Well, we can now bring you a look at several other colorways of the Valley high besides just the white/green one. While the NBA All Stars sponsored by Adidas get their own All Star edition TS Creators and Commanders, the brand hasn’t forgotten about Friday night’s players. No, not the rookies and sophomores- the celebrities. The first event, the Celebrity All Star game, which features a number of popular individuals from the sports and media world, is always fun to watch. All the celebrities in this year’s game will be wearing individually numbered Adidas Consortium Artillery Mids in the respective East and West colorways. The shoes use variations of red, white, blue, and gold to make for some flashy kicks. 150 pairs of these will be sold in Dallas at the event, along with the rest spread out at select Adidas Consortium retailers.

NBA All Star Weekend is in two weeks, starting Valentine’s weekend, and Adidas is definitely making a presence on the court. Along with the Adidas TS Supernatural Commander we showed you last month, the Adidas TS Supernatural Creator will make its way alongside the former shoe come ASW. The Adidas TS Supernatural Creator represents the West in a red/white/gold colorway, whereas the Commander rocks a blue/white/silver colorway to rep the East. These babies utilize Adidas’s latest performance technology and takes aesthetic cues from Dallas itself and portrays them in the designs. Watch out for these bad boys on your favorite stars at ASW in Dallas, but you can also get them that weekend for $125 each at Adidas retailers such as Footlocker and Eastbay.

adidas is well represented among basketball players in the NBA, with stars like Kevin Garnett, Tim Duncan, Dwight Howard, and Derrick Rose constantly putting their feet in adidas’ hands. Now adidas has decided to pay tribute to the NBA itself with their classic Top Ten silhouette in a high-top cut. Pictured here, the “NBA” adidas Top Ten high comes with a predominantly white leather upper and navy blue adidas stripes. Red is found on the heel, while the toe cap is done in grey suede. Lastly, the shoe sits atop a red outsole and sports an NBA logo behind the tongue. Will this shoe be on your radar now- especially considering that the NBA All-Star Weekend is inching ever so closer?

We’ve already previewed some of what the adidas brand has prepared in anticipation of this year’s NBA All-Star weekend. We expect certain adidas NBA players to be wearing either the TS Supernatural or Commander, depending on which team they’ll be on that weekend. The adidas Concord mid has also been worked in both an East and a West colorway. Now the adidas Superstar joins the party. Pictured here is a Western Conference adidas Superstar in a predominantly red upper with white adidas stripes, a white heel tab, and a white sole. The Eastern Conference pair simply replaces the red with blue, while both pairs seem to sport a “neutral” red, blue, and white set of shoe laces. Last year the ZX8000 sneaker model from adidas continued to release in a flurry of colorways, including those that commemorated the Boston Marathon. This year the adidas Originals ZX8000 does not seem to show any signs of slowing down. The pair pictured here sports a grey and very light purple colorway, while both suede and patent leather are used on the upper. In fact, while a darker, shinier grey is seen where patent leather is used, a lighter shade of grey is seen on the grained suede areas. This colorway of the adidas staple is finished off with a purple/grey midsole and black outsole. Keep your eyes peeled for this release at select adidas Originals accounts if you like what you see, which you can see more of after the jump.
