Who would have thought that a drawing that Toshikazu Kayano did on a dinner napkin back in 1992 would transpire into the Asics GEL-Kayano Trainer in 1993? Back then it was considered the “cutting-edge” runner sneaker of the time. More than 10 years later the runner returns to regain that title. This time around, Asics is hooking up this classic runner with a modern colorway. Dubbed as the “Grape”, the shoe is constructed in leather, mesh and plastic in White, Black, Purple and Teal.
