Air Jordan 2012 Release Date + Info

Get ready for the future of basketball performance footwear from Nike and Jordan Brand. With the Air Jordan 2011, the interchangeable midsole cushioning system was innovative, unprecedented, and revolutionary. With the Air Jordan 2012, the envelope is pushed even further. The 2012 will not only feature an interchangeable insole cushioning system, but also interchangeable inner sockliners. This may seem too good to be true, but the price tag might make it more realistic. Releasing February 11, 2012, the Air Jordan 2012 will release with three different cushioning systems, Quick, Explosive, and Air (Max), and two different inner sockliners, Low & Light Fit and High & Tight Fit. The Air Jordan 2012 that releases on the 11th will feature three cushioning systems and both sockliners for a retail price of $223. Later on, the Air Jordan 2012 will release with just one cushioning system and one sockliner. For example, the Air Jordan 2012 Q will feature the Quick cushioning system and the Low & Light Fit sockliner. While the 2012 Q, A, and E come with different components, the 2012 Outer Shell remains the same in each model. The Outer Shell is essentially the upper and complete structure of the Air Jordan 2012 that can be customized to your liking with the Flight Style you prefer. The Air Jordan 2012 Q, A, and E will launch on February 23, 2012 for $180. Give us your thoughts on the Air Jordan 2012.

  1. Leave it to sneakerfiles to break the specs on the 2012 Jordan. Underrated website. However….Ben above is right. Looks like a rejected Melo shoe (all of which suck). Its becoming so clear that the taste level at JB and that of MJ (ya, I said it) is simply lacking. Its just amazing that they are still in business. Where would JB be without retros?

  2. Man, better go snatch up the 2011’s real quick!!! These make the 2011’s look as good as the black cement III’s!!! There has got to be someone way too old behind the controls over at JB. There is no excuse for these shoes. But, before we get crazy about the price……. Outlets, Ross, and pretty much any shoe store will have to sell these at 100 bucks to make money, so maybe a different color scheme 8 months from now on clearance with a coupon, may sound better than 233. Horrible. We will all know the end is near when they nike id all retros. Sounds crazy, but its coming. Shoes like these 2012’s tell me we are on our way to that.

  3. Ugly… I agree with Ben… I’d rather get the retroes than this… its a stupid design, no aesthetic value whatsoever… Idea is good with options for the Lining and midsole…

  4. I like them. I plan on getting Them. Truth is though the sock liners would have made a better air Jordan model. But I’m only buying the pair pictured, the catalog scan picture colors are a no go.

    1. I couldn’t agree more with you Bro. 2012’s have elevated the 2011’s. I’m coppin the 2011’s.

  5. No way!!!
I agree with KillaKicks, 2011 AJ’s are much better than this even without the benefit of a good picture.

Those fuckin’ sockliners means no shit to me. As a legit former collegiate player, a heavy duty composite material ankle brace support is what you need!!!

    EASY PASS (with complete disappointment)

  6. I’m really really pissed. This new jordan is absolutely the worst looking jordan ever. But, it’s gonna cost 233??? It looks like a team jordan mixed with an ugly melo shoe. I have every numbered jordan & the years after but, this bs here is a disgrace to the jordan no matter what color liner or midsole.

    1. unfortunately it seems like they’re running out of ideas and wanting to be the “apple” of shoes in terms of being innovative…it sucks that you’d think they would have better ideas or listen to their fans on how they think the next Jordan should be like….sucks really…

  7. That tuxedo dress/ saddleback look is UGLY and the Kobe line is doing the removable sock liner as well. So performance wise its already competing against that but the cost of it is way more expensive than Kobe’s shoes. Seriously, who designed these? Did Tinker create these?

  8. JB is forgetting that most people dont by Jordans because there functional. Most people by Jordans because they look good. Once the shoe is no longer asthetically pleasing, JB can go ahead and shut down
