In 2002 there were a few Air Jordan VIII Retro models released including one original colorway.

It wasnt until 2007 when we were given the chance to grab 2 more OG Retro models which included the Black/Red ‘Playoffs’ and the ‘Aquas’. However, we almost had the chance to to have the ‘Playoff’ AJ8′s back in ’02 alongside the White/Reds which were eventually scrapped and replaced by a low top version instead.

A sample pair has made its way to eBay and they have a few differences between the ’07 released version. The tongue patch is the most notable change, along with the Jumpman located on the outsole (red instead of yellow), the pull tab is red and the outsoles shank plate features a different design as well.

Take a look at what could have been and let us know if you like these or would rather stick with your ’07 retro instead.
