I just bought mine last week before the retailer got the memo, am I lucky or what? How much would that shoes be worth now?

Well, I'll tell you regardless of the rumors... the delay wasn't to quality. I've had mine since the Monday after the original intended release date as I bought them on eBay from a reliable seller a few days before the release date once the email had been sent to all Jordan retailers issuing a stop-sale. Big Ups to Jordan King for letting me know about the email while I was off the island.

I will still cop another pair on release day, as I saved my insoles that have the Rising Sun on them.

This wasn't hype, this was political correctness at it's worse.

They sell American flag underwear... and you can fart on those... it wasn't walking on their flag... it was the glorification of the flag of the Empire of Japan.

You say who cares? Really, think about it... what if they came out with a Jordan Retro XII Hitler that had a little baby picture of Hitler wearing some Jays... probably wouldn't be popular with everybody.

Needless to say I wore these at my local mall and got stares and questions from five different people in one hour.

They're fresh, they're fresh, and they crush. The shoe looks better on than it does in the box though.

There was an uproar about this several weeks ago in the Asian market. I read an article saying protests were held, boycotts were implemented, etc. against Nike by the Koreans and Chinese who were offended by the "Rising Sun" flag on the insoles due to its WWII implications. I thought that was rather funny since they seemed to ignore the fact that THE ENTIRE SHOE is the rising sun logo. Regardless, Nike announced there would be a different insole for the Asian market ONLY.

This is why I was surprised when I went to the mall extra early Saturday morning, only to find out that the shoes weren't being released ANYWHERE due to the insoles. Apparently, the Japanese were also offended because their flag is being "walked on" since they're under your feet on the insoles.

Still, this is complete BS. JB has known about this problem for a while, but decided to wait till the last second to cancel the release date? It is an obvious publicity stunt to try and create hype and buzz around yet another retro that probably wouldn't have sold that well otherwise.

seriously man what is the big deal, it's a shoe insole and who really looks inside. I don't go out buying a pair of shoes because i love the insoles of it!! Man i reckon Jordan is just causing these issues so they can make another set to sell and us going crazy about the 1st release cos it's a so called collectors edition now. I love JB but, it's fading on me now. I love the retro's but the new designs are not up to standard.

@Muneko: You can start off by learning how to spell and type correctly... Then, a well written or typed letter, or perhaps a phone call with an educated voice to speak to CSR... should be able to get you your money back.

I hate when people type incorrectly on purpose... is it really THAT hard to type correctly and not completely misspell a word yet still use the same amount of letters? Just seems really stupid.
