The Nike Air Yeezy (Kanye West signature shoes) will release starting in the spring of 2009. Sneaker Files has confirmed that the majority of Air Yeezy styles and colorways will be limited releases. The Air Yeezy is inspired by Kanye West’s favorite shoes, notably the Air Jordan III (3) (used for the Yeezy mid-sole makeup). The Air Yeezy is highlited with glow in the dark accents which streak through the Nike Swoosh and Jordan III inspired mid-sole. Pictured above is an Air Yeezy sample being worn by Sir Tinker Hatfield.

I wish Nike would can **** like this and focus more on improving Jordan brand. By improving I mean:
Axe everything that isn’t actually an “Air Jordan”. No more hybrid/take down/cheap ****.
Just give us one new Air Jordan per year in a couple of colorways. Throw in a handful of accurate retros too.
No more limited BS. The price of the shoes should be limiting enough. People shouldn’t have to pleasure the genitals of boutique shoe store employees to get a damn Air Jordan.
Make the quality of the shoes equal to what they were in the early ninties. They did it back then, so someone should know how the hell to do it.

Honestly, I think these are just OK. They’ve got some elements I really like and some things that I’m not crazy about. I’m thinking that if Kanye’s name wasn’t with them there would be waaay less hype.
Revive the Game? Really? These are nothing more than a product meeting a current fashion trend! These will not have transcendent value unless they are an extremely limited release. This shoe is clearly rooted in the Supra high-top revival movement… and it too shall pass!

Kanye 2tha was harder on his first album. Although all his albums have been good, I think they’ve all also progressively gotten worse. Typical trend with fame… Nevertheless he has remained a style GIANT! I personally like the look of these kicks, its no surprise he helped design them. Ironically, Kanye having involvement in this shoe is the only thing that turns me OFF about it. I despise the thought of conforming to a product just because some Hollywood mogul is endorsing it.

This will be the best selling show next year from NIKE, hands down. Jordan Brand is all but over and all these generic forms of shoes they have failed to give some life to, are simply a waste of advertisement, quality structure and dough, but then again, NIKE can afford all of it.
