i dont see how you could blame a player for folk gettin killed over a pair of his kicks….what is he suppose to do?? sure what webber did was a stand up thing to do…but if jordan did something like that he would actually be lettin down the youth across the country by take’n his product off the market.

Extreme? maybe so, but even when Jordan himself was in DC for several yr 4UCKING up the wizards, they asked him about the incident and he said he didnt care on a local news station.

I’m not attacking Jordan cause i still buy the shoes if i like them, but i don’t think he’s yet to sit down and think about the impact of his LEGEND on the kids who live in poverty.

Lastly Chris Webber, former Bullet, left Nike after a similar incident happened when he was in teh city after his 2nd signature shoe. When he show more compassion and respect for the kid and not the contract, DC treated him like royalty. Named a ply ground/gym after him, started a camp, and made a 6 story billboard of his likeness.

Barack Obama is an allegory for social, political change in the states. He could be likened to the Michael Jordan of the political arena, in that his running to be the democratic candidate is a historical first and would no doubt change the US political landscape just like Mike and his sneakers forever changed basketball and the sneaker industry.

On a further note, this clip is looking at the socio-economic impacts of air jordans, whose influence reached out to all demographics, whether it be celebs or the gangbangers. Barack’s inclusion in the clip is not only interesting but also goes to show how influential and synonymous air jordans have become in today’s culture.
