These are an investment. A big investment! I started collecting J's in '85 with the first pair and 2 of every pair and color since.One to keep for show and one to wear. I had the collection appraised a year ago and with the condition they are in which is almost deadstock for the ones I have worn(VERY RARELY) it came out to be a VERY HIGH 6 figure amount. I have them insured and left to my kids so they will never have to worry about money for college. That plus all the Jordan jersey's and other memorabilia. Michael & Phil Knight saw a vision and ran with it and if you believed that the shoes would be worth the money you put out now your gain will be VERY substantial in the long run. So, it's not stupidity. It's business. For all you non believer's look up Nike's stock prices pre-Jordan era and then look at them as of 1997 before Mike spun out Brand Jordan. You'll see that in '84 Nike's stock was around $4.90 a share and in '97 your one share you paid $4.90 for in '84 would now be worth $400+ a share and that was 10 yrs ago. You do the math.
