You know V-dot has a new store opening up next Saturday right? It’s called SuccezZ and he’s teamed up w/ Bobby Simmons from the Milwaukee Bucks to make it all happen.
I’m doing promo for the grand opening - I haven’t even written the press release yet - so if Sneaker Files wants the exclusive - hit up my blog for pics and flyers

Nah! We’ve been knowing about the store even before the concept was established. Sneakerfiles gets first word on any thing in Chicago we knew about this even before Velle left Self-Conscious.

GRAND OPENING: SUCCEZZ BOUTIQUE
ENTREPRENEUR AND PRO-ATHLETE PARTNER IN FASHION TO HELP INSPIRE THE YOUTH
Chicago, IL – Fashion connoisseur, Lavelle “V-Dot” Sykes and NBA Milwaukee Bucks Forward, Bobby Simmons takes the level of success to a new echelon with the V.I.P Grand Opening (Media Only) of SuccezZ: A Way of Life Environment Boutique from 6-10 p.m., Friday, June 20, 2008 and open to the public from 6-10 p.m., Saturday, June 21, 2008 at 1329 South Michigan Avenue.
“In the midst of violence that has continuously perpetuated throughout the Chicago area, we wanted to provide a place for the youth and subconsciously inspire them to achieve and stay driven,” said co-owner, Bobby Simmons.
That said, Sykes and Simmons plan to increase positive awareness amongst the youth throughout the community by implementing various mentoring/internship programs geared towards students delving into the fashion merchandise management industry; annual charity basketball tournaments; and back-to-school giveaways to provide students with educational resources and activities.
SuccezZ, by B & V-Dot, a new envisioned fashion haven that appeals to a widespread demographic has garnered an eclectic assortment of styles to cater to all fashion-conscious alike which will carry a gamut of high-end motifs for men and women apparel, jeanz, teez and sneakerz including Nike, Adidas, Cavi, Parish, Celio, Euro-centric designers and exclusive Chicago urban brands, to name a few.
ABOUT LAVELLE “V-DOT” SYKES
Sykes started his career at Tony’s Sports, previously one of Chicago’s major urban retail chains. After managing and buying for five Tony’s Sports locations he helped open and establish Self-Conscious and Encore by V-Dot . Based upon Sykes’ thorough retail and business savvy both boutiques became a success and sparked Sykes to partner with his long time friend for over a decade, Simmons.
ABOUT BOBBY SIMMONS
While attending DePaul University, Simmons was the only player in history to record 1,000 points, 700 rebounds, 200 assists and 100 three-point field goals. He was named All-State, All-City and All-Area by the Chicago Sun-Times as a junior and senior at Simeon High School.
